Snatched up the groupon and took my niece and nephew (and their parents) out for a treat. We were STARVING! I caught Lola F.'s review declaring the Cali Dynamite and Tiki Fire were bomb. She wasn't lying! We ordered 5 rolls: both listed above plus the Luna, Volcano and Kill Bill. We got yakisoba for the kids and a final order of veggie tempura. The sushi is very good and well presented. The fish is very fresh and the place looks nice (full bar, nice lighting, comfy booths.) I withhold a star because all the sushi is "Americanized" -- which means most of it is fried and all of it is covered in sauces. Just because I'm a white girl doesn't mean I need spicy mayo on everything! I figure the clientele expects Americanized sushi and this place aims to please the crowds. Which is cool. The Luna roll was the healthiest option, and the Volcano, fried and dripping in sirracha and spicy mayo, was delicious in a chicken nugget heart attack kinda way ;-) The food was good and the groupon made a sushi dinner for a family of 5 pretty affordable. Hopefully my sister will bring the kids back here once I go back to LA.

Friendly staff, nice place with a good location..... However...... Low grade sushi.... The tuna is not marbled what so ever and just not as good as it should be.... This place is prime for location and lunch specials but they need to set the standards a little higher.... A lot higher in fact.... This place looks too fancy to have such cheap sushi. The volcano roll was alright... Not warm at all like it should be... I won't be coming here again... A for effort though!!!

My brother, sister-in-law, and myself came here after shopping around and were excited because we've sampled sushi and Asian cuisine from all over so we were excited to try here! Unfortunately we were only served disappointment here. When we first walked in the restaurant is beautiful. The decor is elegant, and the lighting is bright enough to see everything, but also dim enough to give a nice atmosphere. The tables were a bit smudgy, but at least clean. Our server had a pretty thick accent, but was mostly understandable. We all ordered water, nothing fancy. It was the food that was the major let down of this establishment. My brother ordered the Walnut Chicken with miso soup and the Volcano Roll, my sister-in-law ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice and the Dream Roll, and I had the OJ Chicken with the house salad and I also ordered the Dream Roll. The sushi came first. The volcano that inspires their Volcano roll must either be small or non-existence because there was absolutely no heat from the sauce and the roll itself was bland, absolutely no flavor. The Dream Rolls were no better, they were so boring and bland that they sent us into dreamland! The Walnut Chicken was dry, barely any sauce and served over bland rice noodles. The Shrimp Fried Rice was as if it were from a microwave container and thrown onto a plate. The shrimp wasn't cooked properly either. The OJ Chicken, although the sauce was delightful and refreshing, the chicken was of inconsistent texture either too mushy, too rubbery, or overcooked. They forgot to bring my brother his miso soup so we can't comment on that, but the house salad's dressing was delicious but the salad itself was watery and soggy. Overall not the best dining experience I've had in Virginia, and definitely will not be returning. I'll stick to Sushi King or something along those line for taste and customer service

Really good service. Gave me 3 complimentary rolls!!! Was disappointed they didn't have the two person Groupon available but the food was really good.

We arrived there at a good time. Right before the dinner rush. The service was great and the food was even better. It was my wife's birthday and she absolutely loved her Tuna Carpaccio. Tuna was VERY fresh. All ingredients were very fresh for that matter. I had Mu-shu Chicken. Loved it!! My youngest had the Grilled Salmon and my other two daughters had Walnut Chicken and Pork Katsu. All gone. Great portions and decent prices. They also have a very nice Sushi Bar. Great place and we will definitely be back. Oh and my wife got a slice of cheese cake for her 39th+ birthday. ;)

Came here with a hungry rating of 5, had to get something for dinner and working on the sushi sensei badge, so what the heck. There was no wait, and the people were friendly greeting us and getting us to a table. I think the owner/manager may be a young man that was all over the place. He literally was going to the back, the sushi bar, greeting guests, and what I didn't think he needed to do, micromanage the waitress we had. She was nice, but it he was all over what she was doing. Maybe she was new, but regardless, he was telling her to do this and do that, and at the expense of the customers I understand, but she wasn't doing a bad job at all. For what we got, which was calamari, steak and chicken, and two sushi rolls, I think after eating it seemed over priced. And that's why I'm giving them two stars. For the amount we paid our bill, should have been a little better, seemed like the quality of food was the same at any Hawaiian BBQ fast food joint if you asked me. Quickly fried, kinda rubbery chicken, sushi rolls tasted good, calamari was okay. Liked the atmosphere, didn't like the booth, kinda forced you to really sit upright, but this was okay.

Never will I come here again. The rice on the outside of my roll tasted very old and first and for most the smell in the restaurant was not pleasant. I know it's a sushi place but geesh.

We have been several times, and I haven't been disappointed. Service can be a little slow and timing of appetizers/rolls was off when the restaurant is busy. I've visited later in the evening as well, with only a few tables. We received good service then. The sushi is good, but the rolls are VERY rice heavy. We also enjoyed the seaweed salad and shumai. Will definitely return.

I really like it here. it has a good ambiance, great for big groups as well. There are offers on Groupon which makes or even a greater deal. Their food is really good, I usually order the Mr. Miyaki roll, it has taste and texture which really compliments the sushi. Always had an overall good experience here.

Fire Ninja, you are officially out of the restaurant rotation...and honestly, I am not sure you ever belonged in it to begin with. First the sort of good- I do kind of like the atmosphere in here. It is darkish, never crowded, lots of booths, they have a giant picture of a very Darth Maul looking ninja hanging on the back wall, they play a lot of Kenny G. and Muzak which makes me feel like I'm eating Sushi at the dentist, which would probably be interesting. Problems- The menu is, in my opinion, way too big. There is not anything that is spectacular probably because of the 100+ dishes on the menu. The sushi is far, far from the best around (more on that later.) The Chinese is very mediocre and is exceeded by most take-out places, but is far more expensive. The whole spring roll/miso soup/ginger salad scene is good, but everything else needs some help...I really do not know why we have continued to come here over the years except that it is certainly one of the least crowded places in the Town Center area so it's an okay spot if you're trying to make a movie or something. So the other night was pretty much the last chopstick....I had what can only be described as the Nastiest Sushi Roll Of All The World. I will even confess to you right now that once when I lived in Hawaii, I ate sushi from a gas station and it was like a Michelin star meal compared to this travesty of nastiness. The "spider-woman" roll...ugh... The softshell was oldish tasting, the lettuce was also aged tasting and very wet, the rice was mealy, & the eel it was wrapped in a very odd and unnatural grayish color which can only be described as "regurgitated mucus." Then as the final tortuous & twisted send-off, it was smothered, in gobs and sickening globs of mayonnaise...will the suffering never end?? I will admit, I am not one who usually goes for a lot of the "toppings" on the sushi (i.e. a bunch of flavored mayonnaise derivatives, if you are at a place such as this) this was the most liberal use of nasty discolored "topping" I have ever witnessed and it was of course, completely inedible due to both taste and appearance (but lets be honest, mainly appearance) Every time I recall this experience in my mind, I feel the bile rising in my throat, it was that unsettling. Sayonara, Fire Ninja!

Not a super huge fan of here, mostly because their sushi roll offerings always include a deep fried or cooked element and their fish-on-rice sushi are small servings. They have a big section of glorified fast food Chinese on their menu too. They do have a couple memorable items, such as the delicious chicken dice appetizer and jellyfish.

This place is genuinely one of the best places in this area. The staff and management is so courteous and generous. I love the sushi and variety of dishes. I will definitely come back when I am in the area.

We have been here, quite a few times and rye service was fine and the food was alright. The rolls in my opinion were better the other times we went. I'm not sure if it was the end of the night, or if they were slipping behind. We ordered the rainbow, eel, Philly, volcano, and Mr. miyagi.

The boy and I came here for our second time to enjoy dinner before a movie. The place is pretty big and we like the booth seating. Our waiter came to us and we asked him some questions about the menu. I had a craving for some white tuna sashimi and could not find it on the menu. Immediately, our waiter said that it was out of season for it... What!? I had just had it a couple weeks ago, but I give him the benefit of the doubt. He comes back again and says they do have it. I ask what the price is and he says it's either the tilapia or escolar. Well I knew it wasn't tilapia and I have never heard of escolar, so I explicitly said I wanted white tuna and crossed my fingers. Lucky, I got what I ordered and they were big sized pieces. I also got the shrimp tempura roll and it tasted like it was fried some time ago or the batter wasn't the best. Meanwhile, the boyfriend wanted to try a different sushi roll so he asked about the California Dynamite Roll. He ended up ordering it and it was just a California Roll with a baked salmon dumped on it. The salmon itself was mostly brown and had a lot of fat. He mentioned to the waiter how disappointed he was with his dish. In the end, they only charged him for a regular California Roll. I thought this was fair since he did eat all of that part of the dish. Still, this experience was such a disappointment from when we ordered the Mr. Miyaki Roll and the Sexy Roll in terms of food. Plus, the staff need to be better trained about knowing the menu to answer some basic questions.

We ordered the fire seafood soup, dumpling soup, and chicken yakisoba. The two soups were good nothing awesome the crab is imitation crab in the seafood soup. The dumpling soup was dumpling soup nothing great. The chicken yakisoba left a lot to be desired. Service - quick and polite Food - average Music - top 40 seems weird at Japanese restaurant. It does look like they have a nice selection of adult beverages behind the bar.

The sushi was delish! I ordered the Christmas roll with the smashing pumpkin and both turned out excellent. The location is good and waitstaff really nice!

The staff was very nice, but the food was not of good quality compared to the cost. For someone reason the rice tasted so sweet that we asked for something else. They were very accommodating, but I still probably won't come back.

Pricey! I'd rather go to Sushi King instead. Ny Steak teriyaki tasted like rubber tires and steam veges were hard. Also found a gum stuck on salt and pepper caddy from previous customer. Gross!!

  • Lola F.

I LOVE this place. I order through grubhub and my food always comes 20 minutes sooner than the estimated time. The California Dynamite roll and the Tiki Fire roll are effing amazing and huge. Not to mention they have some of the best salmon sashimi I've ever tasted. It's fresh and marbled so it has a delightful buttery taste that melts in your mouth. Their miso soup is also a stand out for me. My only qualm is that there's barely any tofu in it. Over all, Fire Ninja hits it's mark...

Our first and last time; 30 mins after eating what we thought would be good food we both had diarrhea and now we cooking at home. $35.50 for 6 pieces of the Volcano roll and 6 pieces of Sashimi (Dynamite) and two bowls of Miso soup is not something we will be doing again. Other restaurants in the area that serve better food at a better price. The disappointment continues to find a real Sushi/Sashimi restaurant in town center.

I got an online order from takeout taxi. My son enjoyed the sushi (although it looked like convenience store sushi IMHO), but my food was absolutely disgusting and inedible. My pork ribs were shoe leather and the ground chicken tasted like it was cooked in sugar with no other seasoning. My food came out to $57 bucks in total. Sadly, I had to order elsewhere. I'm not sure how they can serve that type of food to people. Don't do online/phone orders. They wouldn't have the nerve to serve me the dog food they did to anyone's face.

This was my first time here and so far this is my fav sushi place. I got a lunch bento box with shrimp tempura and twin towers sushi rolls. These were high quality rolls especially for 8 bucks. I also sampled general tso chicken which was also delicious. All in all excellent place to eat!

I have mixed feelings about Fire Ninja. First of all, the atmosphere is top notch for VB. Trendy, a little dark - feels like an upscale Asian bistro. The entrees and apps are tasty and creative. Raw fish tends to be quite fresh and tasty as sashimi. On several visits, we've also had free sushi amuse bouche served, which was a nice classy touch. Prices are in line with what you'd expect for upscale sushi. The thing that throws me off, I think, is the sushi quality and selection. On the specialty menu, these are just not generally great roll combinations. Strange combinations of flavors and textures - and not in a good way. The sushi chefs cram so many different things in that you can barely tell what you're eating anyway. I recommend sticking to basic rolls (or hand rolls) generally. There is also a lot of variance in sushi rice quality. They don't use much rice vinegar, and the rice tends to be on the sweet side. They also have a tendency to either over cook the rice or cook it too far in advance of using on sushi (no way for me to know which!) - it is pleasantly sticky, but often mushy, and that can throw off the flavor of a whole piece. So if you are a sushi connoisseur, you might find Fire Ninja a bit lacking. The rest of the menu is pretty solid. Also, if the escolar here is the white tuna you've had elsewhere, those other places are ripping you off, because escolar is much cheaper, and this is definitely escolar.

Don't think I'll be coming back, definitely overpriced for starters. Many issues here, not good for kids as there is no kid menu. We had a few dishes as well as rolls, all were underwhelming at best. We even used a groupon and still not worth it

I love their Sushi Menu, the food isn't up to my tastebuds. Ordered orange chicken once to try, and whoever the cook was probably had some messed up taste buds because it was HORRIBLE! It taste like a bottle of soysauce dumped onto the chicken and thats how it was served! I wouldn't recommend the food menu, but sushi is definitely great at this spot!

Sushi is really good here. Thats about it. Be cautious that the traditional chinese menu items might not be what one would expect at a chinese restaurant. But the food is ok.

Just so-so. I was craving some fried rice so we stopped in one night in the middle of the week. Unfortunately, none of the dishes come with fried rice. If you want fried rice, you have to order a huge portion of it. My husband ordered some type of spicy chicken and it was ok. The rice was rice, nothing special. We were both a little shocked at the price of the bill when ti came, we had barely ordered anything it was the price of a really nice dinner. I really doubt that we'll be back. I'm sure there are much better options in Virginia Beach.

I liked the prices more during the first few years they were open, they've seem to go up and the portion sizes have gone down, oh well they still make great hot&sour soup!

My husband and I tried Ninja Fire for then first time tonight. we like the decor as it reminds us of our favorite Asian Bistro in NoVa when we lived there. Service was very nice. Food was good. The rice was slightly over cooked and loose on the tuna rolls but still very good. The Mai Tai was good.. We will be back and bring Friends with us..

QUITE POSSIBLY THE MOST VILE SUSHI RESTAURANT IN VA BEACH!!!!!!!! We have given this establishment two opportunities and both ended in sever disappointment! Both visits started the exact same way. Open the door and boom the odor of suspect fish and filthy mop water hit you in the face. Once we got past the smell we decided to give it a shot anyway. Drinks: Ice water had a little unknown floaty in it dime size. Probably dirt or mold. Sushi: The fish was warm and smelled unappealing, my wife ordered a fried roll and it came out. not crunchy room temperature and the rice inside had a slimy consistency. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY! NEVER AGAIN FIRE NINJA NEVER AGAIN!

Last year I would have given this place five stars, but at the rate it is going I may just stop going. The food here is great. We usually order sushi, but we have also tried some of their other dishes. We stick to sushi though. Unfortunately this place is getting slower and slower, especially during the lunch hour. Their lunch special can't be beat! Awesome food for a fantastic price. However, don't expect to go on your work lunch hour. You will definitely be late getting back. We even ordered 15 minutes before getting to the restaurant, but it still took another 35 minutes to get our sushi. It is rarely crowded too.

This was my second time going to this place, the first time wasn't so bad but I was taking my friend from out of town to a "good place" to get sushi! Well the service was good, but we get dirty plates for one and then our food finally comes out nice and fresh, we eat and half way home my friends stomach starts turning! Needless to say she was sick all night in the bathroom! ! I would not go here...its not good!

Do not even have a try. Their sushi did not test fresh, and Im sure they changed some expensive makings into cheap ones. Their service is unfriendly and slow. I would not give their one star if yelp has an option of zero.

We have been in a few times for lunch. They have a perfect "Pick 2" Lunch Box deal for Iess than $8. Generally my pick is the Volcano Roll (4pcs) and either the Gyoza or Chicken Teriyaki. The deal also comes with House Salad, Miso Soup and Brown Rice. It's a great deal. The service can be a bit hit or miss ( I think that they sometimes forget that most people have a limited amount of time to do lunch), but the food is always good.

  • Xerxes N.

Okay, so the service there is a bit shot. I had a business meeting today and things just seemed out of whack. Our drinks were empty for over five minutes and I looked around and saw maybe three tables (although one was a party of eight and another of six) with people. My waitress picked up my glass with just ice and asked if I needed a refill. No ish... I think that goes without asking. Seated at the bar, the chefs kept putting their finished trays in front of us and the waitress kept reaching over to grab them. The chefs could have put the trays away from us to avoid the being interrupted. The food was fine. Nothing special. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and beef teriyaki box lunch special. Since I suck with chop sticks I asked for a spoon to eat my rice and received a fork. The atmosphere there is great. I don't mind the food but the service is a bit irritating.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! I've had more than my fair share of disappointing dining experiences in Va Beach since moving here so Fire Ninja was a nice change of pace! My husband and I eat had gyoza (my personal fave Japanese appetizer), miso soup, two sushi rolls, and a large sake. Everything we had was top notch! We were both blown away at how many different rolls there were to choose from. Normally, I hate giant menus like that, but with sushi, large menus are exciting to me. We both LOVED what we got and I went out on a limb and got a roll with grilled eel...so yummy! Our server was pleasant and prompt, something that's very important to me. She kept our water and sake glasses full and even offered us each a tiny piece of cake for dessert, on the house. The restaurant was fairly busy for a Friday night which tells me that it's a pretty popular place. The decor was comfortable and inviting without being over-the-top cheesy with Japanese decor (which is very annoying to me). All said, I would DEFINITELY come here again for awesome sushi and would tell anyone else to give it a go too! They have a nice Groupon right now, so grab that if you're interested in checking it out!

Very nice place with friendly staff. Our waitress was not available when we needed her. The food came out too quickly. Not freshly cooked I suppose. The dishes we ordered were ok. But not good enough to go back. All in all with the Groupon it was worth the one time visit.

  • Gary H.

I've been here a couple times for lunch. It's really close to my job and their lunch box special is a good value. The restaurant is part of a chain, which I'm typically not really down with, but I give them a pass. The atmosphere is nice and modern. There are a lot of cool lighting effects and the decor is interesting. Service here isn't super fast. I wouldn't try and pull off a 30 minute lunch here. If you're willing to wait around, the sushi is pretty good. I stick with the lunch box for the price, but everything I've gotten on there is good. I'll keep coming here until I find something better.

I was big on this spot early on. I used to roll up here often with a buddy of mine with sushi on the mind. In fact, I haven't ordered anything except sushi here and they fit the bill by making some pretty interesting and appeasing rolls. The service is decent, although I have noticed that their wait staff can get in the weeds quickly during a dinner rush. There were a couple of times when our party would wait for great lengths to get our food. I often take into account that rolling sushi is time consuming, but we've waited for a good 30-45 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. But seemingly all is well once the food arrives because their fish always seems so fresh. I'd like to give this a higher score, but since I haven't dined there in over a year there must be something about it that doesn't seem right. I can tell you that the prices seem a little high, but that's what's expected when you go out for sushi. Maybe one legit reason for my apprehension in returning is that Volcano on Great Neck has the exact same menu, but for a little less (it is my understanding that Volcano and Fire Ninja share the same owners). So coming from Norfolk the question is raised: Should I drive farther for less expensive sushi at Volcano or stay a little closer but spend more at Fire Ninja? Maybe I'll just go to a sushi spot in Norfolk.

We were here around 7pm on a Wednesday. There were about two other tables the whole time we were there. Service is slightly slow but not anything to really complain about. There were as many servers as there were tables seated. The ambiance is nice and dimly lit. The edamame was good and so was the steamed pork goyoza, however, it seemed slightly cold to me. There were six in my party and we all ordered various sushi rolls and entrees. The Mongolian beef and chicken teriyaki were delicious (from the samples I tried). My bf and I ordered three rolls to share, yellow monkey, volcano dragon, and tiki fire. Don't quote me on those names, my memory stinks. Yellow Monkey was ok, it was a shrimp tempora roll and tasted bland to me. The other two did not have distinguishing tastes so I was disappointed about that. Plus the sauce overwhelmed the flavor. Afterwards, three out of the six of us complained about not feeling so great. I'm not saying they served us bad food. Hey, maybe we just ate too much. I just thought it was odd that half of us felt a little icky after eating. I probably won't go back because there are trillions of other sushi and Chinese places around and nothing really stood out favorably about this restaurant.

Definitely not our favorite sushi place in Virginia Beach. I mean, good sushi is just hard to come by over here. All in all, the food was good. The service was bad. The prices were expensive. For me to pay a lot for bad service, the sushi better be DAMN good.

I want to amend my previous post. It's been a few years and Fire Ninja has been able to get its act together menu-wise. They have a huge menu and a lot of sushi to try. I was impressed with the Dumpling Soup. I was concerned bc the soup hit my table looking like dumplings and veggies in hot water. But the broth was surprisingly flavorful and the veggies were a great compliment. So they get an extra star :)

In case you haven't heard, everyone seems to love the Ninja Lunch Box...including me! Best deal for under $8. What made this trip awesome? Free appetizer, and a free slice of cheesecake! What a great person our sever was! Decor is comfortable, beautiful, and perfectly lit.

Standard maternal advice includes the admonishment "if you can't say something nice..." With that in mind, I will say that Fire Nina has nice napkins, modern decor and a clever logo on the front door. It seemed clean but was difficult to tell as the lighting level was just low enough to not require a braille menu. Chicken lettuce wraps tasted OK but was small (or it could seemed small in comparison to the enormous serving spoon which accompanied it). The Spicy Beef entree was neither spicy or...well, I'm sure it WAS beef at some point. Meat should never have the consistency of Jell-O. The Ying-Yang noodles became a plate of Ying-Yang sushi. The order was corrected and the noodles were a bit firm and oversauced. The protein was identified as chicken. Not a fan. Thumbs down: food, price

We had quite an adventure at Fire Ninja. We arrived at around 6:30pm on a Monday night and were taken immediately to a table. There weren't a lot of people in the restaurant but it wasn't empty either. Immediately I noticed that our table was damages with two gouges in the tabletop. Couldn't figure out how that could happen but then we looked around and noticed that a lot of tables had the same damage. It took a few minutes for us to get drinks and the waitress was apologetic about the wait. The water cups were plastic, which is fine, but they both had nicks and damage around the rim. Again, weird. We placed out order - a couple of rolls for my dinner companion and a chirashi bowl for me - and our waitress was back pretty quick with a roll. She told us it was a complimentary roll on the house. It had spicy tuna with sliced strawberries on top. What a wonderful combination of spicy and sweet - it was really delicious. A bit later the waitress returned with our food. My chirashi bowl was missing two pieces of fish so she went back to retrieve it for me. When she returned, she had my missing fish plus another freebie of white tuna in a sweet sauce. I loved it. It was nice to get the freebies but I am really not sure why. She kept apologizing for the wait but we really didn't experience a bad wait. In the end, we enjoyed our food but they need to work on the visual ambiance with tables and glasses. Oh, also, we got a kick out of the 90's R&B-ish soundtrack.

Let's just say, if I could give them a negative one star, I would! Came here for lunch. I specifically asked for a philly roll with NO AVOCADO! Server brings me my roll with avocado in it. I asked to have it without... The server then walks the roll over to the sushi chef and returns with my plate stating that the chef says I should just take the avocado out myself because all he is going to do is dig it out and give me the roll... I will post a pic of what that looks like. They also brought me a dream roll that was topped with large glops of mayo... not spicy mayo... just plain white mayo! Never again!

Edit: I've been twice and got sick both times. I just can't get behind this place. I wanted to love it. After hearing great things my husband and I tried it. The miso soup was good and I was surprised at the quantity. I had a Kirin and my husband had a well gin martini on the rocks. My beer was fine but the poor girl had no idea how to pour it so I ended up with half beer, half foam. My husbands martini was gin on the rocks in a martini glass... nothing else in there. I had 2 different spicy rolls and my husband had one that was spicy and one that was not. Everything tasted fine but not a single thing we had was spicy in the least. Also the tamago seemed a bit more wet than it should have been. I didn't love it but my husband did. This place was kitschy and I'm pretty sure that's the draw. The menu is MASSIVE for a sushi joint. I'm willing to guess there are much better places to get good sushi in the VA Beach area.

After eating here, I was floored to see they only had a 3 star rating!!! My friend and I brought our 3 children (4,3, and 2). From the moment we walked in they pulled out the red carpet. They treated our children soooo well, treating them to some fortune cookies while we waited for our food. The server was sooo kind, and had amazing suggestions on drinks and food! Her drink suggestion (the sake sangria) was refreshing and amazing. The chef's special roll (the tony) was yummy, and my daughter dove into the seaweed salad as if it was her last meal. They kept us, and more importantly, our children, happy allowing me and my friend to eat and talk and enjoy our meals. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the amazing service and great food! We will be back for sure!!

Forget P.F. Changs' mass-produced Americanized Asian food. I'll go across the street to Fire Ninja any day. I've been two or three times and have never been disappointed... EXCEPT, they do not serve fried rice at all (us Americans need our fried stuff!), but the good outweigh that pesky detail. The food is fresh and delicious and plentiful. The menu offers variations on dishes us Americans are used to--and they are certainly improvements. The service is outstanding. The first two times, I experienced great service, with detailed attention to my needs. The last time I dined, they were the definition of "hospitality". I was treated with a sushi roll on the house, and to my chagrin, I had to decline because there was crab meat and I am allergic to shellfish. The server took it back and they brought out a delicious tuna roll of some sort... just amazing.

Went with my friend for lunch and we both opted for the Lunch Box special. A good amount of food for the price, and good quality. Only complaint is that the waitress had a hard time understanding out order and brought me miso soup instead of the salad I ordered.

I will admit that I had reservations about going to a place with a hokey name like Fire Ninja (even though ninjas and sushi are not Chinese, but I digress). The service is not the friendliest and the sushi menu is full of the American rolls (cream cheese, avocado, etc.), BUT... the sashimi is where it's at for a true sushi lover. The quality of the fish was better than most of the sushi restaurants I've seen around Hampton Roads (even better than my favorite mom and pop shops). I would go back for, if nothing else, the quality of the sushi. And a Sapporo to wash it down. ;o)

I enjoyed everything about our experience here expect for the music. It's awful. They did mess up our order and generously fixed it and let us keep the incorrect roll. The service was good decent and we were treated well.

This is without a doubt my favorite sushi place. I have tried almost every roll, and I am never disappointed. The service is amazing, and their happy hour is also great! They also have great chicken lettuce wraps for appetizers, which I have never had from a sushi place. Overall, Fire Ninja is a MUST try!

The ambiance of the restaurant seems to cater to the trendy diner and it certainly makes you feel pretty good to be sitting in there but the food is not necessarily worth the price. Some of the Asian dishes are far from spectacular. The salad was ok and the sauces that accompany some of the dishes were average. The sushi seemed to be hit or miss. Some of the rolls are really good; like the volcano roll and the Blue Moon and others seemed to be bland and boring

Update: this place is slowly starting to go downhill. The food quality is not that great anymore. I come here with coupons and have to put up with an argument with management about what's written on them (they like to make up their own rules as they argue). The wait staff is getting dumber and slower, sorry to put it so rudely. Not my favorite spot anymore.

The food tasted good. And service was great. First appetizer was cold when it should have been hot, (Safety issue), they comped with a great appetizer. Unfortunately, the rolls just fell apart and you could tell corners had been cut to prep the food. Rolls have way too much rice in them. Any restaurant can have a bad day, but I get the feeling the food isn't a fresh as it could be.

Not a huge fan after our first visit tonight. We got there at 6:30 on a Tuesday and there were maybe 4 tables there the entire time we were there. The crab rangoon and spring rolls were great, but our entrees were not very good :/ The staff was super nice and the service was great- we just didn't really care for the food.

The look of this place is beautiful inside. That's about where it stops. Our waitress had an attitude problem when you asked any questions about the menu. The food was ok but when compared to the price it should have been a hell of a lot better. Drink prices are sky high also.

Our favorite place to come when we have no kids. Although it is very family friendly, it is very good sushi and I usually get a from the grill dish. Reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. We have been given sampler free sushi on many nights as they recognize us as regulars. One of the best places to eat in town center.

Fire Ninja Sushi & Chinese Bistro is a misnamed Asian-fusion cuisine restaurant in the Virginia Beach Town Center area. The place is definitely not a bistro--not according to the standard definition of a bistro anyways--and I find it irritating that so many new restaurants try to sound hip and trendy by calling themselves bistros. At any rate, Fire Ninja is beautifully laid out. I like the logo; I like the décor. It's trendy, but it's attractive--good lighting, bamboo, strategically placed red lights. However, the food is not amazing. The rolls were a little on the loose side, and the rice wasn't cooked properly. I love good sushi. Fire Ninja does not have good sushi. The lava roll I ordered was certainly spicy, but again, hampered by poorly cooked sushi rice. The menu is way too large and varied. I think the place would do a lot better if it focused on doing about a fourth of the menu items, but doing them really well.

When this place first opened, I LOVED it here! I've moved from the area and I was excited when a friend wanted to meet me there. Not only have the prices increased since the last time I was there, the portions are smaller and the food quality isn't the same. Also, the décor was beautiful when it opened several years ago, but it hasn't been taken care of. The booth I sat in last night have a major divot and I couldn't use half of it, not to mention the giant RIP in the upholstery. I seriously doubt I will return to this restaurant again with so many other options in the area.

This place is going downhill. First your greeted by handwritten paper signs yelling about groupon sales!! Hey you signed up for it!!! Very unprofessional then after about 5 minutes we got a table mind you it's 1:pm on a Monday!! Then there out of lemonade and tuna!!! What I came here to eat tuna. Here I sit 45 minutes later our food gets here and my wife's food is cold.. We are over this place.. Stay on Groupon cause that's the only way you will get them in the door.

Thought I would throw a quick review up for a memorable trip to Norfolk. The first place I went with my friends almost directly off the plane was Fire Ninja. The logo caught me first as SUPER CUTE! The decor of the place was REALLY cool. However, the music was simply AWFUL. They played the same 15 songs twice while we were there and it really didn't seem to fit the somber, classy look that the restaurant had. My friend said I needed to try the Fire Punch, and she was right, it was SO GOOD! It would definitely be a little better with a splash of rum, but it was good alone. We shared some edamame, nothing new there. I order two rolls, one that I really can't remember the name of, maybe Volcano Roll? It had no rice, fish only. It was really tasty and flavorful, but it was so small as to be more of a pricy appetizer. I also got a California Roll for laughs. It was a laugh, actually. Not very good. I guess being 3,000 miles from California, they don't really know what goes in one. Overall, though, I'd say despite being a little overpriced for my tastes, I pretty much enjoyed it. I can tell that sushi is not as common in VA as it is in CA, so they get an A for effort. :)

This place has probably one of the worst services in this area that I have been to. The hostesses were texting with their backs turned from paying customers when they needed tending and they lacked the attention span to even acknowledge that people were waiting. The food was alright but not something that I would pay for again. I could get better sushi at my school's dining hall. The only thing I enjoyed though was the shrimp tempura and the mayonnaise served with my Dream Roll.

On our last trip to Fire Ninja we were not impressed. The food was ok but def overpriced for the quality & the service was nothing like the first time. Actually the service was so poor that the manager/supervisor gave us a free dessert, but it wasn't good! I would not suggest Fire Ninja any longer. There are plenty of other asian fushion restaurants in the area that are better priced and of better quality.

OMG WRST FUD EVARR!!1 I HAZ STOMACH CANCER NAO. LAMEZ!! I love this place soooo much! if it were a boy we would be totally making out!! so yeah the reviews on this place seem a bit polarized. After noticing the restaurant a couple years ago or whenever it materialized out of smoke and ash, the boyish side of me was like: tee hee! ninjas and fire! While the cynical crabby old man side of me was like: bah! what is it a Pokemon club? that's JUST WHAT THIS CITY NEEDS, another rainforest cafe! hrrgghhggrumblegrumble (the old curmudgeon side of me is long winded and ends proclamations with random grunting noises) so we went for an early dinner the other day and i feel as though i am ready to voice an opinion. So where do i fall? I'm pulling a Switzerland. (that means I'm neutral, i make awesome watches, i make chocolate and chocolate accessories, and I'm uh... landlocked..yeah.) so here is the yin and yang of my opinions (omg see what i did there!? that totally just came to me. oh you stopped reading 2 paragraphs ago? fine then...) the place has a poor location. tucked away behind the almighty IHOP and off of the Blvd its not the most prominent place. However the interior as many have stated is very nice. modern style with reds and black colors, its like ikea's asian cousin who happens to be part of the yakuza. There was plenty of seating and we were waited on in a reasonable time. However i have friends who have gone to fire ninja and say much to the contrary, so i have to believe the reviews about the wait staff aren't exaggerated. The menu goes over a really broad spectrum of food. I get worried when a place offers omelets or nachos at the same time of day let alone anything east of Europe. I think its along the same vein that I wouldn't order a hot dog at Dairy Queen or something. So we went for the primary food , sushi. we chose some interesting rolls and it was fun to pick the silly named creations. someone who is looking for really good authentic sushi might be a little perturbed at the lack of sushi in their 'signature' and 'stylish' rolls. i don't mind because i can enjoy what i like to call junk food sushi. i don't know about all of the crab rolls mr. 5 stars review is talking about. this is the first sushi place i have ever seen "Krab" listed as ingredients. that's not a hip way of naming it. its fake food. i dont know why it would be in a $10 roll. not cool. i enjoyed the food i had there. i sampled about 4 different rolls, miso soup and seaweed salad and it was enjoyable, however the reason we went was because they offered a early dinner special which included 'buy one roll get the other half off'. well the half off works for 1 roll, so if 4 rolls are purchased for the table you don't get 2 discounted. also the roll discounted is the least expensive roll. i think i would go back again and try a different food item. Would i be upset if the place disappeared without a trace? OH look at the time! my batch of chocolate needs tending to...

Is the sushi good? Most nights, the answer is yes. Is the customer service horrible? The answer is ALWAYS yes. I've finally had enough. Even though we love their salmon sushi and their chefs' rolls, their service is always terrible. How terrible? They're slow on a good night, which means you'll be aching to eat by the time your order is ready, but to add insult to injury, they wouldn't accept their own coupon from Valpack last week, even though we met all the terms and conditions. How much would accepting their coupon have cost them? Probably $10. How much does their poor service cost them? I've spent at least $1000 there over the last 12-18 months. Unfortunately for them, they've given me incentive to try all the other sushi restaurants in south Hampton Roads without giving it a second thought.

I'm going to be in Virginia Beach a few more times this year. You can not believe how happy I am to have a place like Fire Ninja around. My waitress (according to the receipt) Annie was wonderful. I had just had a tough day and certainly appreciated her EXCELLENT service. I normally don't get rolls that are too complicated but I decided to give it a shot at this place since their rolls have such unique names (hell, I stopped here BECAUSE of the Fire Ninja name... I'm weird). I asked Annie what she would recommend and she suggested the Earthquake roll (perfect..considering I'm from California). It was great! First time in a very long time I enjoy a non-traditional roll. All in all - just a great experience. You should check this place out.

Fire ninja, hands down has the worst Asian food ever. I have no idea who came up with the menu, but it tastes like American people trying way too hard to make Asian food. I had the curry and honestly, I took one bite and stopped eating. It was so unbelievably disgusting I ended up just eating white rice. On a positive note, I dedicate the 2 stars solely to the decor. It's definitely super nice in there. The staff was ok.

I've been here three times hoping that it would improve but it didn't. My food was always mediocre, overpriced, and slow to come out. The waitstaff isn't rude but have a robotic politeness to them, sorta like Commander Data. For chinese I'd rather go to China Garden Express takeout.

  • Amanda H.

I've eaten here numerous times and love it. I'm from out west and had a hard time finding good Chinese food, until I found Fire Ninja. Every dish I've ordered there has been delicious. I went for lunch today and ordered their Lunch Box, which was an amazing deal for $8 (see pictures). I recommend Fire Ninja to all my friends and they've all said they love it too.

Like so many people before me have said in their reviews, the atmosphere of this restaurant is quite impeccable. It is beautifully decorated and all around easy on the eyes. I have been to Fire Ninja many times, I love sushi but not everyone does, this place offers people who are not fans sushi other options. My 9 year old daughter has gone with me every time and she loves this restaurant is well. Her and I usually stick to sushi, different rolls every time. I have never been disappointed with any of the sushi I've gotten at Fire Ninja, because it is like an asian infusion restaurant, they don't just stick to chinese or japanese they have all different kinds of asian inspired dishes from different countries. One complaint I would have is that the menu is far to big, that has its ups and downs...on one hand if you are dining with a very picky, non sushi eating person there is bound to be at least 1 thing they can find on this huge menu to order. On the downside to having such an enormous menu, the wait staff is very unhelpful in recommending something to order or even knowing the ingredients or the names of menu items. While on the subject of the wait staff, I have never been over the top impressed with my waiter or waitress. In the times I've been to this restaurant I have never had a waiter or waitress be rude to me or my party, but I have never had them go out of their way to be nice or inviting either. Their wait staff just leaves a lot to be desired, and it is really unfortunate because with such a beautiful atmosphere, and reasonably priced Asian cuisine, this place could be booming. They really need to trim down their menu and rather than having a 12 page to menu with mediocre choices, they could cut back all the variety of things they offer and focus on having maybe a 4 page asian infusion inspired menu and have everything they offer be unbelievably tasty. Fire Ninja is a perfect example of how is quality is more important than quantity. The management needs to step up, because I'm not the only person who has commented about this in the reviews, and hire a wait staff that has knowledge of the menu, and the ability to help confused or overwhelmed (by the huge menu and wide array of food choices) patrons of their establishment pick something to eat that's not only delicious but will keep them coming back. And it would also be helpful if the wait staff had, I don't know, personalities.!?! Often times I feel like I'm talking to a wall or a lobotomized mental patient, because trying to get a response from the wait staff is a pain staking process that I don't want to do when I'm in a restaurant. My daughter and I do like this restaurant, but the wait staff keep us from becoming more regular customers. But if you are a person who loves sushi and are going to eat with someone who doesn't, Fire Ninja is a reasonable choice. I would have no problem updating my number of stars for this review if by some miracle the next time I go to eat there and they have hired better waitstaff.

  • Bevan C.

Wonderfully tasty sushi rolls, elegant atmosphere, but the wait service is left wanting. Water is treated like a scarcity in the restaurant. You NEVER leave a glass half empty and ours were a quarter most of the time. Friendly staff, but they need to learn more about service.

  • Ronalyn T.

Let me just say that if it were about a year ago, I probably would have given Fire Ninja 5 stars. I feel that the quality of food, service, shoot...even china and glassware have gone down in points. The first time I went, I thought wow, this place is huge! It doesn't look like it from the outside. Not only is it enormous, it is very well decorated. I like the music too. I wonder if they just stream Pandora. Anyway! I think something that I love about Fire Ninja is their daily lunch box special. It's $7.95 for your pick of 2 rolls/or entrees + house salad + rice + soup! I always leave feeling full afterward. The bad? Their sushi doesn't always taste fresh. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and it left a really bad aftertaste in my mouth. I even had the people in my party taste it just so I had 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions Haha. The chef did offer to replace my shrimp tempura roll and it was yummy. I forgot what it was called...something yellow monkey? It's a new roll. Food + service needs to step it up though!

This is the same owners as my previously reviewed Volcano sushi and it's just as good! It's pretty much the same menu....and it's all good. My ONLY issue with this place is the lighting. It's too dark in this restaurant. Ofcourse..I'm getting older so maybe my eyes just aren't what they used to be.

Pros: nice atmosphere, nice food - HUGE selection, Asian Fusion at it's best Cons: selection is too much and very sporadic, I couldn't figure out what to order Thoughts: This Asian Fusion Restaurant leaves all the rest in the dust. The only thing that can stop it might be their heavy load of a menu. It was hard to decipher whether I wanted Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, or any of the other Asian cuisines not mentioned. Unfortunately, if you aren't familiar with the menu or the food type, neither are most of the waiters there. Catch one of the Asian waiters/waitresses and it might be more helpful.

My husband and I have been eying this play for over a year and were too afraid to go in because we didn't know what to expect - lol. We finally had a date night 2 weeks ago and because a seafood place we liked closed down, we decided to try this place. I am really sorry we took so long to get here. This is an interesting place. The menu is loaded... it took our waitress 3 times to come back to us because we had so much to look at and couldn't make a decision. I had an appetizer and about 6 sides of sushi with my husband and while pricey, I have to say I enjoyed it. Its not the best sushi I've tasted, but I enjoyed the presentation. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. Tom H. reviewed this place saying that it caters to a trendier crowd and it does, however, I'm a pretty average 38 year old black woman and my husband is a pretty average 39 year old white male - we aren't exactly the hipster types and we felt completely comfortable. We didn't see the baby boomer crowd too well represented, though - lol. I loved the ambiance of the place, felt both personally and physically comfortable in our booths and even thought it would have been a good place to bring my 16 month old. We saw babies in this place and they were having a grand ole time! Inside looks more like a dance night club set up: dark, moody, trendy music (which was really good, btw), but again we saw babies in here and they were doing just fine. We liked this place enough that we will go back when time and money allow. Awesome place to take a date out to, have a group dinner or even just a cozy family dinner with your kids provided they are not too rambunctious (and if they like sushi). Neat place and I'm glad we finally tried it!

Wow. Somebody named this joint wrong. Sushi and Chinese? Maybe it REALLY is a ninja (you know, ninjas were in disguises and whatnot doing covert agent stuff) because I can't figure this place out. Maybe because they are indeed doing exactly the name of the place is supposed to do - being a cloaked ninja... Little pricey for the amount and quality of stuff you get. 3 bucks for stir fried spicy chicken that is covered in spring onions? Did these people just tried to charge 4.95 for a side of kimchi? Did I hear Korean ballard, then immediately followed by Chinese ballard, and then Japanese hip-hop? I can have shrimp pad thai, an order of kalbi and have soba noodles with vegetables too? What's the fire for? Is everything fire grilled? I was overwhelemed, completely confused with what appears to be a sushi restaurant that also tried so hard to be everything else that is trendy. Henceforth, I've done a crappy job of ordering. I ordered sushi platter and a Christmas Tree roll. They are both tasty, but my sushi was little too warm - bit of a miss. Sushi platter featured two pieces of white tuna, two pieces of salmon and a yellowtail. (I do not remember the last fish item) More variety please? And that "platter" was whopping $13.95. I know I don't come to sushi restaurant to be incredibly full, but my tab (with tax but not tip, no drink) was about $25 and I could still had a sammich probably. I should've took my time to drive up to Kyushu.. Some people might enjoy this type of variety and ambiance, but it really wasn't for me.

The restaurant had nice decor but the food was at best slightly average or less than. The service could have been better. But that wasn't the issue. After paying my bill, I noticed that the tax was configured wrong on my bill. I told the waitress and she pretended not to understand. She returned to say that's how we do it here. I then asked what was the state tax in Va? She said she didn't know then went away and never returned. Va is not my home state so I googled the info to find out it's 5%. The restaurant charged me almost 10% sales tax. I left my table to speak with someone. I asked for a manager and was denied that opportunity. I was asked to leave. I asked if they had just added their own gratuity? The reply was NO and that all Va restaurants do the same. Again I was told to leave. Please check your bill closely when going to this restaurant. We dine out alot and at times we've checked a bill and found errors. But this was the first experience I've ever witnessed a restaurant increasing the sales tax. Beware!

The best sushi ever! I have eaten plenty of sushi at various locations and Fire Ninja is definitely a favorite. Fast and friendly service. The restaurant is also pretty spacious. We have never had to wait for a table. When you order take out it is ready within 20 mins. They also have fabulous lunch time specials.

Ba da ba ba ba I'm loving it! No it's not McDonald's but Fire Ninja is the awesome enough to sing about. The place is beautifully decorated in a modern asian decor. Call me crazy or shallow, but food really seems to taste better when the restaurant is pretty. Our waitress was super nice and very prompt to attend to our needs. The lunch specials were excellent. I recommend the hot and sour soup to start off and prepare your stomach for some tasty sushi or sashmi. Be sure to have some water on hand, though, this soup seemed much spicer than i've had it at other restaurants. The coolest thing about this restaurant, apart from the food, is the music! They played an awesome mixture of traditional asian and modern american rock, trans and R&B. I was so grooving to the music, that I had to ask the waitress if this was a cd or an internet radio station. I was so surprised when she said that it was the manager's I-pod. Awesome. I can't wait to go again.

Fire Ninja is a beautiful LOOKING restaurant. But there were several things that bothered me about my experience eating there. First, my husband and I walked in at an off time -- like between lunch and dinner. There were no customers in the place. A bunch of the staff was eating at the tables, like it was their break time...which is fine, except they seemed pretty dumbfounded by us coming in and they just sort of looked at us for a little while before someone finally came over to seat us (they were open, btw). Strike one. Then I ordered one of the stir fry dishes specifically because it the menu said it had mushrooms in it and when I got it there were no mushrooms to be found. Maybe it sounds minor, but it's a pet peeve--it's called "truth in menu." Lack of mushrooms is not nearly as bad as, say, charging for "prime Kobe beef" when you are really serving something inferior, but still, it's the principle. If the menu says it, then that's what it should be. If you're out of an ingredient, then just have the waiter say so or 86 that item for the night. It took me a few minutes into eating the dish before I realized it was mushroom-less. I told the waiter about it. He offered something new, but by that time I didn't want anything else. Strike two. The food tasted good enough. My husband had sashimi and he liked it. I also had some beef skewers, which were good. But for the prices (fairly pricey) and the surroundings, it should be better than good enough. Strike three.

I went to Fire Ninja for lunch and was very impressed w/ their lunch specials! I love their Ninja Lunch Box.. I ate here because I got Delta Dining miles for it. Good choice too, I've come back often. The staff is friendly and the food is good. I always get the king fried rice and asian pancake. The asian pancake is very greasy/oily but if you blot it, it tastes yummy.

I'm always skeptical when I go to a new sushi restaurant in a new town and don't know much about it. I went to this place based on recommendation and a badd strong craving for sushi. i have to say, it was alot better than expected. Usually, when you get sashimi at a place, its sliced real thin and lots and lots of rice. The rice was about the same, but the fish was cut very thick. I approve! (And I'm hard to please!) The only downside was the pricing. It's a bit pricey, but I guess I'm spoiled where I'm always willing to pay good money and get good sushi/sashimi! My friends ordered rolls that looked delicious. Wide array of food on the menu, and my vegetarian friend (not even fish) found something delicious to eat! I would DEFINITELY recommend going here, I know that I'll probably go back again. Also, very nice ambiance.

I am an avid sushi fan and though I have my favorite sushi places, am always looking to try something new and hoping to add a new favorite to my list. Unfortunately Fire Ninja will not be making the cut. If the sushi was good I could have overlooked the poor service and dirty atmosphere, but sorry to say the food was a big disappointment as well. We went in for lunch one day and ordered 2 bento box lunches, an extra roll and some sake. The soup came quickly and though I loved the hot and sour soup, the miso soup was very bland with not enough miso flavor. There was a bit of delay between soup and entree which gave me time to notice the awful music playing. It would have been appropriate for an evening club atmosphere, but seemed out of place for the time of day and type of patrons. That didn't bother me much, but the dirty bowl that I was to mix my soy and wasabi did. It had a visible dirty crust on it, which always makes me wary of the cleanliness of the rest of the place. If the waitress didn't notice, what other sanitation issues go unnoticed? When the food arrived, we realized we never received our sake. Instead of reminding the waitress we decided we didn't need it anyway. I had ordered the half dragon roll as both of my two choices, which in every other sushi place I have been to is usually a bigger roll, hence the offering of only a "half" roll for the bento box. It was the smallest dragon roll I have ever seen, the same size as the shrimp tempura roll and with very little tuna. If I had to pay the full $10 price for this roll I would be angry. The flavor was "meh". Picture hopefully to follow. One of my favorite rolls is the super duper roll, a mix of salmon, eel and avocado and I order it everywhere. Since it was not offered in the bento box selections, I ordered it ala carte. It was the most disappointing super duper roll I have ever had! There was no eel visible at all, nor could I taste it. I mentioned it to our waitress who argued with me that it was not supposed to get eel. When I showed her on the menu that indeed it was, she came back with a message from the management. "That roll only gets a tiny bit of eel because eel is so expensive. If you want to taste eel, order an eel roll. We will make you another roll, but just so you know for next time if you want eel, order an eel roll." I was insulted and furious! When the replacement roll came it was not much better than the first, with a barely perceptible amount of eel. And the salmon they used was overcooked and dry. How is it too expensive for them to add an appropriate amount of eel, but not for Volcano, Yama, Soya, Domo or Sakura sushi restaurants? It is not some exotic ingredient, and one seven dollar (retail price) fillet can make a least a dozen rolls. Since it's my fav I also learned to make it at home. On the upside, the shrimp tempura roll had a nice crunch. In the middle of this debacle, our sake finally arrived. I would have sent it back, but needed a shot to calm me down from the management insult. Before leaving I had to use the restroom, and I am glad I didn't go in there before the food arrived or I would have lost my appetite! It definitely needed some detailed cleaning, and the smell was nauseating. It reminded me of the bathrooms in busy bars that rely on cocktail waitresses to clean them at night so they never really get that clean. Maybe that explains the music, maybe they are meant more to be a nightclub than a restaurant, I don't know and I won't be returning at night to find out. I probably never would have tried this place if it had not been for the Groupon I purchased. Unfortunately we purchased two and don't even want to go back to use the other one. It's not even worth half the price.

Oh and my wife got a slice of cheese cake for her 39th+ birthday. ;)

Pricey! I'd rather go to Sushi King instead. Ny Steak teriyaki tasted like rubber tires and steam veges were hard. Also found a gum stuck on salt and pepper caddy from previous customer. Gross!!

For my wife's birthday, I took her to check this place out. We only had an hour to work with because we were planning on seeing a movie across the street afterwards. The waiter was incredibly helpful, and he helped my wife with deciding on which roll to choose. They also helped with the different flavors of sake. From start to finish, they were clean, polite, helpful, and the service was fast and efficient. They even offered us some fruit for an after-meal dessert. I tipped 25% because they deserved it. I would not only go back to eat here, I would highly recommend this place to my friends. We look forward to going back.

I've been here three times hoping that it would improve but it didn't. My food was always mediocre, overpriced, and slow to come out. The waitstaff isn't rude but have a robotic politeness to them, sorta like Commander Data. For chinese I'd rather go to China Garden Express takeout.

I got vegetable tempura, miso soup, a veggie sushi roll, steamed rice, and a house salad for $7.95. My husband eats meat and was in heaven eating their fish sushi. I'll definitely come back!

I ate here because I got Delta Dining miles for it. Good choice too, I've come back often. The staff is friendly and the food is good. I always get the king fried rice and asian pancake. The asian pancake is very greasy/oily but if you blot it, it tastes yummy.

When I sat down and read the menu, I was a bit overwhelmed: there are so many choices and dishes to choose from! I absolutely loved the Miyaki sushi roll I got. The atmosphere was great and I really enjoyed my dinner.
